Powerful and Entertaining Week
Posted by: | CommentsWow was last week a whirlwind!
Three big lessons I got out of the week that I wanted to share with you.
1. Started off the week with one of my Mastermind Group meetings. Incredible break-through’s are being experienced by nearly everyone in that group and it is very inspiring to be a part of it. And, a partnership was formed last week which I think will be huge for both of the members. The big lesson here… do NOT try and do everything yourself! Find others who PLAY at what you don’t want to do is a saying I’ve heard more than once and there is a LOT of truth to it.
2. We had an incredible Monthly Marketing Summit last week and I received more positive comments about this meeting all on copywriting than any other meeting I’ve ever hosted. The big lesson here… realize that we are ALL copywriters – if you open your mouth and talk, then guess what. You’re a copywriter. So, better start discovering more about copywriting.
3. Just got back from Dan Kennedy’s Wealth Attraction event which was life-changing and amazing. Too much to share but grabbing a copy of Dan’s Wealth Attraction Book is a MUST DO. Here’s one big lesson here for you… you need to BE SOMEBODY, in addition to DOING SOMETHING. A quick example… do you think Dr. Phil is really the best therapist out there? Does he really EARN all of the money he gets because of his technical skills? The answer is NO, he earns from WHO he is.
More on that next during our August meeting – stay tuned.
Wishing you every success,
Henry Evans
Ghost Shimp Catching
Posted by: | CommentsSo after working hard until about 11pm the other night, I had one of those “I think I work too much” thoughts. Not because I don’t like what I do, I love it and am extremely blessed but rather because I haven’t recently been putting the same amount of energy into having fun with my kids as I do my work.
We always try to spend a lot of time together on the weekends but lately I’ve been traveling a bit (the Glazer-Kennedy SuperConference was 5 days in Dallas).
So, I decided to dig out something I clipped from Southwest Airlines 2 YEARS ago. It was an article entitled “Kids Stuff, 63 Things To Do With Your Kids Before They Grow Up.”
So, I immediately TOOK ACTION, got a blank piece of paper and wrote on it “Fun Daddy Day Activities” and then I listed May, June, July, etc. through the end of the year.
One of my good friends, TomT, had told me about going ghost shrimp catching with his kids when they were younger. I had thought about doing it for years but NOW was the time. So, I put this piece of paper with our first activity on it, and blank spots for the rest of the year right up on my girls’ bedroom door.
When they got home from school, I said to go check their door and they scampered up as quickly as they could. After 5 minutes of explaining what ghost shrimp were and what we were going to do Saturday morning, they were completely sold on the idea.
So, last weekend I took them Ghost Shrimp Catching – it was a blast – in fact, it was so much fun that I decided we would do at least 1, if not 2 new fun activities with them each month in 2010.
And the best part is I have a bunch of other ideas from this article, and I hope to get feedback from other parents on cool, unique and fun things we can do for future activities.
So the marketing lesson here is to TAKE ACTION IMMEDIATELY when you get an idea. You’ll see in the video below that when I took immediate action the end-results was a perfect morning and an irreplaceable memory.
Your ANSWER to Thriving in the Recession
Posted by: | CommentsWhat is the best way to NOT participate in the recession?
What is the best way to ensure that you are NOT shopped by price?
And what is the best way to ensure you compete against no one but yourself?
The key to all of these is to have a very compelling answer to Dan Kennedy’s question…
“Why Should I – Your Prospect – Choose To Do Business With You Instead of Any and Every Other Option Available?”
If your business isn’t where you want it to be, or even if it is and you want to further accelerate it, then you absolutely MUST spend some time on getting a good. Change that.. Spend some time getting a GREAT answer to that question above.
This is THE most important and challenging Question you will ever answer about your business.
It needs answered about the business as whole. It needs answered repeatedly and frequently, each time you advertise, promote, put forth an offer, attempt communicating with prospects.
When you do that, your core message become your unique selling proposition or better known as your USP. It’s what separates you from everyone else out there and allows you to not participate in the recession.
Everyone talks about this but very, very few people have a compelling USP. It is definitely some of the most valuable time that you can spend ON your business to be successful. When you have a good and compelling reason to exist, it immediately takes you out of competing with others to operating in a competitive vacuum.
To see how to get this kind of message in your own business, we will be going through it at our next GKIC-San Diego Monthly Marketing Summit on Wednesday, April 21st. This will be an interactive meeting and I guarantee you it will be extremely worthwhile.
You can sign-up to join us by clicking here.
I wish you every success as you work on getting a great answer to Dan Kennedy’s question and forming your own Unique Selling Proposition.
Post your own USP in the comments below – we’ll have an award for the best one at our April meeting.

The “Big Thing” for 2010
Posted by: | CommentsDo you know what was done over 1 billion times today?
If you said, “a video was watched on YouTube” … you would be right!
Over 1 billion videos on YouTube alone will be watched today.
Let that sink in for a second…
That means 11,574 views a second, 694,444 videos a minute and 41,666,666 views an hour!
The growth in online video is explosive, and NOW is the time to add this to your marketing mix.
Why?
Because online videos actually get watched.
Video is proven as the best online format for people to receive your information, it is actually watched and absorbed.
Not only that but video is incredibly useful because it can generate free traffic (YouTube is the 2nd biggest search engine behind Google), it can generate leads, and it can generate sales and profits.
In short, its amazing because it really works!

Tribute to Jim Rohn
Posted by: | CommentsJim Rohn passed away earlier this month.
Having only recently discovered Jim’s teachings, I was struck by his delivery and sincerity in his words of wisdom.
The video below is a great way to make 2010 your best year yet.
My favorite quote in this video: “Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job.”
Thank you Jim Rohn and may God Bless You.
